Reading books. Do you?

My reading has slowed down, but I’m still trying to do a little bit every day.  I find that I always read fiction with ease, but tend to be slow with anything else, no matter the subject.

When we got here and did not have much to amuse ourselves with, we went to the discount book store and chose the most interesting ones we found. In the end, the books I have read were not necessarily my first choice, but I appreciated them all!

The books I have read in the last two months and three weeks:

I have added brief comments about them, but please bear in mind that I am no book reviewer!
The three books (below) by the same author were chosen because I have not read a series since Sweet Valley High, and I wanted to enjoy some continuity across books. The books are about a private investigator and read like "pulp" fiction.

The book I am currently reading is called TheTipping Point by Malcolm Gladwell. I’m about a third of the way through it. I find it interesting how much he relies on research in psychology. The guy living in the granny flat behind us lent it to me, along with several others by Gladwell. The next books I’ll read are Blink and Outliers.

I love the feel and smell of books. I love the potential they hold. I tend to always have too many books, and most I haven’t read. After this move to Africa, I really am tempted to just rely on libraries. I love them. I’m the daughter of a librarian. I have not been to my local one here, I’m expecting to have difficulties and will need my husband with me. You tend to need a copy of your housing lease to sign up for almost anything important, and his name is the only one on it!

My other option is to get an e-reader like the “nook color.” I like it the best because it has wifi and 3G capabilities, unlike some out there.

What is the last book you read? Did you like it? Do you have an e-reader? I would love to hear any recommendations for books or e-readers! Please post!!

Song of the day: Inspired by the West Wing episode we watched today, the one that followed 9/11/2001.

I have NOT been reading as much as I should! I know it's so good for me, especially as a blogger. Reading well written books = well written posts. Supposedly, one of the best ways to become a better writer is by reading. I'm not the best writer, so I should get on this!

My goodness - Sweet Valley High! What a flash back, I loved those books :)

I am currently reading The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton though I am having trouble getting into it which isn't a good sign for me. If I like a book I can read it within a few days or it I really like it I HAVE to stay up till 3am till it's finished, but this one... It has taken me a few weeks to get through the first 3 chapters. At this rate I will probably finish it in a couple of years, hopefully :)

Thanks for popping in and saying hi on my blog, it's really appreciated.

Well you know I am not much of a reader, but I recently finished the Hunger Game Trilogy, they were very hard to put down, I finished all 3 in about a week.

I love reading, but the problem is my attention span. It's seriously short…

Thanks for following Momfever, I'm following you right back.

I love reading as well! I think other than crafting, reading is my favourite "hobby". :) I'm busy reading Stephen King books at the mo, the last one I finished being "The Mist". I'm a horror novel fan. ;)

I've exhausted the library here, so am now buying my books online - so will soon have a large collection going on here too, hehe! If you'd like to order books online, go to loot.co.za, their prices are really good. :) In fact, i'm waiting for an order to delivered soon! :D
