Kamers Vol Geskenke 2012.

A couple of weeks ago, I went to 10th annual Kamers vol geskenke on the Lourensford Wine Estate in Somerset West. I’ve been to the estate before, and the grounds and facilities were still as amazing as ever.

I enjoyed the Kamers craft event, however, not as much as last year. I went with the same friend as last year, and we both agreed that it wasn’t as inspiring as last year.  The type of vendors were slightly different- more plants and fabric based crafts, and less beaded crafts (which is one of our main interests). The vendors and artists are amazingly talented. It was so colorful and creative, and I still really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I took pictures using my phone, but many came out blurry. I didn’t buy anything last year, and almost left the same way this year…but I had to have one last “go round” and couldn’t resist.

This will be a very image heavy post- so I’ve actually split it into two posts. To start, I have four pictures of what some of the larger stalls looked like.

These huge banners greeted you at the entrance of one of the tents The Red design on the narrower white strips were actually plastic hangers that were strung end to end. Neat, no?

Such a romantic stall.
This stall had more home decorative things on sale.

This stall had lots of hand made shoes and bags.

Jewelry in shades of blue and green.

These fabric beads were so colorful!

These fun looking purses look a little small- I need something that can carry some nappies.

What unique hanging planters....

Those locks (lions and fish) were gorgeous!
Ceramic bowls.

This carved silver spoon is amazing.

This contemporary wall lighting would make a wonderful night light!
I love the curly branches on this wire tree.
Colorful ceramic bowls, tea pots and cups.

Cute tutus for little girls.
"Home Grown" onesies. Kinda wish I'd gotten one.

The second post will go up soon…and will feature some of the best fabric based crafts I encountered, and the two items I bought at the show.

Song of the Post: Breathe In Breathe Out by Mat Kearney. This song was the opening song for the first episode of Season 4 of Grey's Anatomy.
